Pay once. Keep it forever.
Boardify runs on your Mac, so the Mac app has no subscription. One payment, and the app is yours, with every feature it has now and every feature it gets later. The browser version, which does need a server, will be a subscription kept cheaper than most notes apps.
Boardify Plus
Coming soonFor the browser version, sign-in, and later sync between Macs. It runs on servers that cost money every month, so it is a subscription, priced below most notes apps. Nothing here is available yet, and nothing here will ever be needed to use the Mac app.
- Browser version with sign-in — coming later
- Sync between your Macs — planned
- Sharing — planned
If you use the app, your notes should not have a monthly bill.
I built Boardify because I was tired of subscriptions on notes apps. Most of them run on your own machine, hold your own words and pictures, and still charge every month for the privilege, usually without adding much to the app itself.
Boardify is the app I use every day. $9.99 is a one-time thank-you for making it and keeping it going. After that, it is yours: no renewal, no locked features, no account standing between you and your boards. Every feature I add to the Mac app later is yours too.
The browser version is the one exception. It runs on servers I have to pay for every month, so it will be a subscription. I will keep it cheaper than most notes apps, and you will never need it to use the Mac app.
Pricing questions
Is $9.99 really the whole price?
Yes, for the Mac app. You pay once and it is yours, including every feature it has today and every feature added later. There is no subscription behind it and nothing locked until you pay more. The browser version is a separate, optional subscription.
So is there a subscription or not?
Only for the browser version, because it runs on servers that cost money every month. It will be cheaper than most notes apps, and it is entirely optional. The Mac app stays a one-time purchase, with all current and future features included.
Do I need an account?
No. Download the app and start. Sign-in arrives later with the browser version; the Mac app never needs it.
What happens to my boards if Boardify shuts down?
Nothing. They are plain files on your Mac, and the app keeps working without any server.
